Location: Edge of the Cedars State Park

Durango photographer, Dave Manley, presents his collection of rock art images of the Four Corners area.  This exhibit iincludes over fifty petroglyphs and pictographs presented with Manley's artistic flair.  The unframed photographs invite the viewer to explore the cultural landscape of the ancient people who left the messages on the rocks.

Location: Fremont Indian State Park and Museum

During your visit to Fremont Indian State Park, kids can play in the Kid's Discovery Zone. Kids can pretend to be a Fremont Indian and play in the pithouse, weave on a loom, and make their own rock art on the rock art wall. Kids can also pretend to be an archeologist, put on a lab coat, study real artifacts, and learn about Native American culture in the Archeology Lab. There is a day use fee of $6.00 per vehicle up to 8 people, 50% discount for Utah seniors. No charge for Utah State Parks Annual Pass holders.

The Utah Field House of Narural History State Park Museum in partnership with Dinosaur National Monument will display exhibts from the closed dinosaur quarry near Jensen Utah.  The exhibit consists of four dinosaur casts: a nearly complete juvenile Camarasaurus, Allosaurus fragilis, a poossible new Allosaurus species, and a partial baby Stegosaurus.  Join us for a night of eyeshine and mystery as we learn about the animals that come out after the sun goes down on Antelope Island. Enjoy an indoor presentation and then venture outside to observe a baited area, in hopes of catching a glimpse of the Islands nocturnal predators.

Come join the Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum and the Uintah Recreation District for our 3rd annual "Movie Night at the Museum". We will be showing the family film "Night at the Museum:Battle for the Smithsonian." The event is free, but tickets are required and can be picked up in advance at the Uintah Community Center. Celebrate the International Year of Astronomy with an evening of star gazing. Join the park naturalist on a tour through the galaxy as we search for planets, constellations and other celestial wonders. Meet at the Visitor Center at 7 p.m. Dress warmly and bring folding chairs or blankets.  Hot drinks will be served.

Take a step back in time to learn about the life and times of women at Camp Floyd. The Ladies of Camp Floyd Day Camp teaches everyday activities completed by women of Camp Floyd. Participants will wear a period dress, meet costumed interpreters, play 19th Century games, learn etiquette of the period, construct a rag doll, learn a period dance, and more.

Walk off that Thanksgiving dinner with a backcountry hike! Join the park naturalist as we explore remote areas of the park. Learn about the early history of Bailey's Wash, watch for wildlife and view ancient rock art. Hike is about 5 miles round-trip and covers some steep and rocky terrain. A vehicle is required to reach the trailhead. Meet at the Visitor Center at 11 a.m. Bring a lunch, water and warm clothing.
