Location: Rockport State Park

Rockport has been stocked with 28 tagged fish with prizes in excess of $8000! One tag is worth $2500 cash. Catch a tagged fish and  go to Rafter B Gas and Grub in Wanship to see what you've won! Follow this link on the Utah State Parks website for more information. More fish will be stocked throughout the winter!

Location: Antelope Island State Park

 Keith Vaught will display photographs in the visitor center art gallery.  The exhibit features landscape images of Antelope Island State Park from 2009 to 2011.  To view more of Vaught's artwork visit www.greatsaltlakeimages.com.

Join park staff for a one-mile, round trip hike and the opportunity to explore the ‘Winter Circle’—a bright pattern of stars adorning our cold, February skies!

Location: Antelope Island State Park

Join the Park Naturalist from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the visitor center for a winter walk to discover and discuss some of the amazing adaptations animals use to survive the silent predator of winter. Dress warmly and wear sturdy shoes. Program is geared towards children ages 6-12 but everyone is invited. For more information call (801) 721-9569.

Starvation State Park hosts an ice fishing tournament Saturday, February 11. Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m. and the tournament starts at 7:30 a.m. Registration is $15 for adults and $10 for youth 16 and younger.

Location: Wasatch Mountain State Park

Join the Park Naturalist from 10 am-Noon to learn why the moon has phases and how the moon affects wildlife. Head outside on snowshoes; find the moon and signs of animals in the park.  Space is limited please call 435-654-1791 or email kathydonnell@utah.gov to register. Program is free, snowshoes available to rent for $5 per pair.

  The stars we see at night are all in various stages from “birth” to “death”. Come and explore the night sky as we discuss and observe the life cycle of stars. Meet at 5:30 pm in the visitor center. Dress to spend time outdoors. If you bring a flashlight, be sure it has a red filter. Please note the park gate closes to incoming traffic at 5:30 pm. For more information, call (801) 721-9569.
